Perhonen

The Perhonen lamp explores colour and form with a distinct Yrjö Kukkapuro sensibility.

The lamp’s structure stems from a pragmatic approach, offering illumination while incorporating joyful decorative elements that engage both visually and emotionally. Interchangeable colour elements, cut from translucent plexiglass, add vibrance and adaptability. The visible screws securing the components are an intentional feature of Kukkapuro’s recognisable design language and demonstrate the honesty of its construction. The Perhonen illustrates straightforward, enduring design principles.

The Perhonen lamp later evolved into its current form in 2023, influenced by the postmodern era’s embrace of bold colours and shapes.
