Coat Rack 80

Designed by Yrjö Kukkapuro in 1971, the Coat Rack 80 is a minimalist expression of modular design, created during the same period as the iconic Remmi chair. The rack reflects Kukkapuro’s commitment to functional innovation with a structure that allows its length to be adjusted to fit the size of the space.

Crafted with a painted or chromed steel frame, the Coat Rack 80 combines durability with a restrained aesthetic. The hook rail and hanger rail are made of matching painted or chromed steel, while the shelves have steel springs with a plastic cover, emphasising both practicality and thoughtful material use. These components demonstrate Kukkapuro’s serial component approach, ensuring adaptability without compromising design integrity.

Reintroduced in August 2022, the Coat Rack 80 is manufactured in Finland and utilises the same connections and joints as the Remmi chair, paying respect to Kukkapuro’s other designs.
